The Webmastering classes take a break every now and then from HTML and learn how to use other web related software like Macromedia Flash. Flash is used to create many of the animations we see on the web.
Students were first introduced to the Flash interface and then they were allowed to spend time experimenting with the various drawing tools and their properties. Then we created our first short animation, one we might find on a website, with text and motion tweening. Together we created a simple head animation which showed students the difference between keyframes and blank keyframes. Students were then encouraged to create a simple one of their own. They are currently working on an animation with fading photographs, and it is my hope to experiment with shape tweening as well. On this page, you will find some examples of the student's animations.
